This item is for the Adjustable Screen Door Adapter as an individual item in case you already have one of our doors and want to add the screen door adapter for better security and to seal a screen door.

If you are purchasing your pet door for the first time, then add a screen door adapter in the drop down box when you click on the patiolock model item or base model item. Do not click on this and add it after you have added it via the patiolock/base model item because then you will get TWO adapters!

Shipping Costs:

Please note a flat Australia-wide shipping fee is not possible for the pet doors because they are over 1.2m long and thus incur manual handling and over-size item fees in addition to the actual freight charges and domestic delivery surcharges and fuel levy surcharges, etc. Most couriers including Australia Post can not be used due to the over 1.2m issue.

So, in order to streamline checkout for most, there are a few common zones to choose from at checkout that cover most of the highly populated areas along the east coast and Perth metro.

If you live in more rural areas then please select the first option for $1. We will then email you an invoice based on our cost to your address depending on the courier used.

If you prefer, you can email before ordering for a freight quote.

Unfortunately, we have to use multiple couriers depending on location and warehouse origin so it is not possible to use an accurate freight calculator at checkout. The zone model is the best system we can come up with thus far to cover most of the populated areas.

Our Universal Door frame (Screen Door Adapter) fits our Pet Door Inserts. It is a universal aluminium door frame section 100mm wide x 15mm deep x 2120mm long (base model) or Height Adjustable (1950-2110mm), which mirrors your own sliding door frame (i.e., door jamb) so BOTH your sliding glass door and screen door can close and lock in to the pet door system. Easy solution and simple design.

So, when you want to have air flow in/out of the house, you can open your sliding glass door and keep your screen door closed against the pet door without letting mosquitos/flies/weather inside the house.

The Screen Door Adapter also enhances security as the leading edge of the sliding door is not exposed, which makes it more pry proof. Note if you do not buy the Adapter, the sliding door will just butt up against the pet door and there will often be gaps which could encourage prying.

The Adapter also hides the gaps which looks a lot better (ie., if it is in your living area it will look much nicer with the adapter) and it enhances bug and weather proofing.

If you have not seen the video and info yet on the PatioLockTM (patent pending) model, then maybe have a look on the home page as this is the only Patio Pet Door that can lock the glass door to the pet door without screwing, drilling, and so on. Super convenient and easy to quickly lock the glass door to the pet door. The security and features are enhanced with the Screen Door Adapter. 

Please note all our Base Model Patio Pet Doors come with a bracket that allows the pet door to be fixed in to the wall frame. The top panel of the pet door also has a screw hole so you can screw the top of the pet door up in to the top track inside the top for extra strength. You can then transfer both your sliding door lock and screen door locks directly on to the universal door frame accessory as the pet door will be securely screwed in to your door frame (Note most locks will transfer- refer notes below in red for more info).

For renters: 

It is highly recommended to invest in the patented PatioLock model because it not only locks without screwing and drilling but you can also re-use the entire system at the next property. You may need to buy the two-hook lockset or vice versa if the next house has a different lock but then you will be able to lock to almost all standard height range sliding doors without screwing and cutting again!

If you have internal locks, whereby the wall frame has a hook type lock striker inside the channel in the wall frame that inserts inside the vertical frame of the sliding glass door, then the patiolock model will not work. In rare cases with internal locks, you can use a base model pet door with an adjustable screen door adapter and either transfer locks (refer to the FAQ page item about internal locks) or you can cut the white rod in the pet door box to length to wedge the glass door against the pet door to lock the glass door per se without screwing.  

Fitting the Screen Door Adapter:

The adjustable screen door adapter has been made to be compression fit up the side of the pet door and is secured to the pet door by knocking it in with a rubber mallet. If you are transferring locks for security screens, then there are 3 self drilling screws (included) to fix the adapter to the pet door. We have a patented adjustable screen door adpater that does not require cutting, it has extension pieces that cover small gaps and the top and/or bottom so you do not need to cut it and you can also re-use it when you move house and the next frame is a different height because the cover plates are adjustable. With competitors, you either do not have a screen door adpater which causes sealing and security issues, or you will have to cut to size with a hacksaw and purchase another expensive adapter if your next house has a taller frame. 

How long will it take for my adapter to be despatched? 

We aim to get your adapter out within 1 business day of payment clearing.  

Returns: 

Returns are accepted if there is a fault with the product including freight. We can offer this without hesitation because we make a great product and do not tend to get complaints. 

Please take the time to measure your pet, your sliding door opening space and your lock type to ensure you order the correct size and product. Due to the size, weight and nature of a glass product, returns get expensive due to overall courier costs and warehouse fees (for unopened products). If you have opened your door/adapter then please contact us to discuss options. 

Delivery Details:

IMPORTANT: Please note all deliveries will have default instructions for the courier to leave the pet door at your front door.

All deliveries are Road Express, which works on a Monday-Friday basis. Delivery time varies according to location. For example, it is usually 3-4 business days delivery from Adelaide to Sydney.

The courier cannot deliver to a post office box; it must be an actual address.
